TUNES BY THE TRACKS, Featuring REBECCA COLLEEN

                               Rebecca Colleen

TUNES BY THE TRACKS is full toot for a Wed, Sep 20th arrival at the Clifton Springs library.
Your harlequin hosts Jim Clare and Allen Hopkins are bereft in Cathy's absence, but somehow we're muddling through.
We're absolutely delighted to welcome back our lovely and extravagantly talented Feature:

~ REBECCA COLLEEN ~

is a college student, majoring in Economics at Hobart and William Smith College, who is admirably adroit at balancing her music career, with her academic exigencies.

A home grown beauty, we've enjoyed watching Becky evolve from a gifted girl singing in her dad's band, into an accomplished solo artist. Rebecca dazzled us Trackers with her inaugural show, and we're really looking forward to this season's edition.

Here is what one complimentary fan had to say about Rebecca Colleen:

"... a stunning mix of knowing how to make a song her own; an uncommon patience for letting the lyrics unfold; an extraordinary ease that translates as old-soulfulness; and above all, perhaps, the sheer joy of sharing the songs she loves." ~Mary Burdette, Associate Director, Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~

Once more into the fray, they fling themselves with abandon.
The always exciting gang of talented Trackers will attempt to continue topping themselves.
We always welcome newbies, so if yer hankering to give it a whirl, just axe Allen or Jim (me), and there ye'll be.

                   David Ianni

TUNES BY THE TRACKS is on the mainline for Clifton Springs. She'll be at the library on Wednesday, Sep 6th, with a good friend on board.

Your harried hosts, Jim Clare and Allen Hopkins are working without a net, since Cathy is on sabbatical for the month of September.
Not to worry...Allen and I are a deucedly dedicated duo, and we're doubly determined to deliver a doozy of a show, to welcome back our Feature:

~ DAVID IANNI ~

David, https://www.facebook.com/DavidIanniMusic/" target="_blank">http//www.facebook.com/DavidIanniMusic/
Rochester, NY, is home base for this finger-style guitarist and vocalist, known for his masterful and heartfelt interpretations of folk music favorites.
Of course, us Trackers know David from his concerts with Golden Link Folk Singing Society and Tunes by the Tracks, and his appearances on WRUR's Open Tunings with Scott Reagan.

Last year he collaborated with vocalist Linda Foster on the original concert "Stardust and Butterflies: Joni Mitchell, Judy Collins & Joan Baez" which played to sold-out crowds at JCC Centerstage and at the First Niagara Rochester Fringe Festival.

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~ will strut their stuff, during the second half of the evening.
If yer ready to unleash yer muse, just buttonhole Allen or Jim (me), and we'll instantly add yer name to the coveted roster of Mystery Pickers.

John Denniston                  Elaine Verstraete                 T-Bone Farley

TUNES BY THE TRACKS is under full steam for a Wednesday, Aug 16th arrival at the Clifton Springs library.
Your happily homogenous hosts, Jim Clare, Cathy McGrath, and Allen Hopkins, are excited and pleased to Feature:

~ EVA & THE DOGBOYS ~

EVA & THE DOGBOYS, https://www.facebook.com/Eva-and-the-Dog-Boys-131671960246185/" target="_blank">http://www.facebook.com/Eva-and-the-Dog-Boys-131671960246185/

John Denniston - Mandolin and Tenor/Lead Vocals is one of the Northeast’s top mandolin players. As a lifelong resident of Palmyra. He and his patient wife, Maureen have three children, who secretly love John's music, too.
Steeped in the classic Bill Monroe mandolin-playing tradition, John is a genial gentleman, and a serious musical performer, who adds his tenor vocals to the Dogboys harmony.

Tom (TBone) Farley – Guitar virtuoso and sometimes old time banjo picker with a thoughtful appreciation for all kinds of acoustic music.
Bone is usually pivotal in the instrumental arranging of the new songs.
As the guitarist and frequent lead baritone vocalist, who happens to own our single microphone we’re extra special nice to him. His playing experience includes Lisa Bigwood and The Washday Band, Cuttin’ the Grass, The New Aliens, and many revisits of The Dugway Dirt Band.
TBone is married to the lovely Suzanne and they have a beautiful daughter, daughter in-law, and grandsons Alex, and Lance.

Elaine (Eva) Verstraete - Bassist and lead/tenor vocalist is everybody's compleat artist.
Elaine is a lovely woman, who is a widely respected illustrator and university faculty member, with an extensive musical background. She has a restless musical soul and the sultry pipes to bring a song vividly to life, in almost any musical genre.

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~

Fresh from their triumphant turn as Feature Artists, the pesky Pickers will be even more ebullient, I predict.
This is the perfect time, for you newbies to suit up...turn up...tune up...and play yer best song for us Trackers.
Just buttonhole Cathy, Allen, or Jim (me) and you too, can be a Mystery Picker.

TUNES BY THE TRACKS, Featuring BILL DESTLER

                                                                                                                Bill Destler

TUNES BY THE TRACKS is right on schedule, for a Wednesday, July 19th arrival at the Clifton Springs library.
Your folkalacious hosts, Jim Clare, Cathy McGrath, and Allen Hopkins are delighted and proud to introduce a new TUNES BY THE TRACKS Feature:

~ BILL DESTLER ~

Bill Destler, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_W._Destler

Here is Bill, in his own words:
"Who am I? I am a husband, a father, and a university administrator. Although my degrees are in engineering physics and I have spent much of my career working in that field, I am also an aspiring singer/songwriter and guitar/banjo/mandolin player (hmm…, this aspiring thing has gone on a long time) and a collector of antique banjos. I am interested in alternative fuel vehicles and my family collectively owns 1 Chevy Volt, 2 Prii (plural of Prius?), 4 electric bikes, and 1 electric scooter. I eat almost entirely from the male (or as Rebecca says, the beige) food groups, and I am counting on a good gene lineage to protect me from myself. I have been very lucky in life."

Clearly a man of taste, sensitivity, intelligence, talent and wit,
Bill is a genuine renaissance man, but he's coming to TUNES BY THE TRACKS, anyhow.

plus...

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~

That eclectic gaggle of musical friends, who boldly step into the spotlight, to add zest, panache, and cacophony to the evening.
Anyone champing at the bit, can simply let Cathy, Allen, or Jim (me) know, and we will include you, in the pantheon of MYSTERY PICKERS.

                       Loren Barrigar                     Mark Mazengarb

TUNES BY THE TRACKS is full steam for Clifton Springs library,
with a Wednesday, July 5th ETA.
Your harmonious hosts, Jim Clare, Cathy McGrath, and Allen Hopkins,
are so pleased to welcome returning Tracker favorites, as our very special Feature:

~ LOREN and MARK ~

Loren and Mark, http://www.lorenandmark.com/
In live performance, they nearly defy description.
They astonish with spectacular technical grasp of the guitar, outstanding musicality, spontaneous creativity, and wonderful vocals, that seem effortless.
Maybe even more appealing, is the unique personal chemistry between two friends, that literally makes the room crackle with electricity.
Their impromptu, on stage badinage is as much a feature of a Loren and Mark show, as the world-class guitar virtuosity, that they both display.

Heads up Trackers!!
When Loren and Mark come to town, our big room fills to the brim, so please plan to come early, and it would be a good idea, to bring a lawn chair, just in case.

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~

We're gonna wring everything we can out of Loren and Mark, but we'll still find time to squinch in the Mystery Pickers.
So, if yer feeling especially eager, just buttonhole Cathy, Allen, or Jim (me), and yer in bidness.

TUNES BY THE TRACKS, is lickety-split, for Clifton Springs, with folk royalty, on board
Library ETA, is Wednesday, May 17th, for a 7:00pm show.

Your habitually hospitable hosts, Jim Clare and Cathy McGrath, are thrilled and delighted to welcome, for her inaugural visit, our Feature:

~ ANNE HILLS ~

Anne Hills, http://www.annehills.com/biography/
has won so many awards, for her singing and songwriting, and played with so many of the great folk artists, that we literally don't have room here, to show you all of them.
Please click the Link above, to learn more about this beautiful lady, and her equally beautiful music.

Here's what Tom Paxton has said, about Anne...

“A stunning soprano tone has made Anne Hills one of contemporary music’s premiere vocalists … Her knack for writing heartfelt songs [has] brought her to the upper echelon of her craft.” and Tom Paxton says, “Anne Hills is such an exquisite singer that it’s understandable that people might be swept up in the pure beauty of her voice and thereby overlook her writing. That would be a mistake. For me, Anne’s writing, in songs like ‘Follow That Road’ and many others, is as direct, melodic and deep as any work being done today. She is quite simply one of my absolute favorite songwriters.”

...plus...

                                                                     Carla Ulbrich

TUNES BY THE TRACKS is steaming for Clifton Springs, and
she'll be at the library, on Wednesday, May 3rd.
Your hospitable hosts, Jim Clare, Cathy McGrath, and Allen Hopkins, are quivering in anticipation, of welcoming back a Tracker favorite, as our Feature:

~ CARLA ULBRICH ~

Carla, http://www.carlau.com/ , is a captivating performer.
She has dealt with serious, life-threatening illness, and turned her adversity into insightful and often hilarious songs. Check out her website, to listen.

Carla captured our Tracker hearts, with her debut appearance last season.
She drove in, from New Jersey and enroute traffic made her a tad later than planned.
Undaunted, Carla zipped into the parking lot, unpacked her guitar, and took the stage, without even stopping to catch her breath.
Despite taking no time, to freshen up, or change into her performance outfit...Carla looked lovely, performed magnificently, and her ebullient high spirits were happily contagious.
She's back, and we love Carla Ulbrich.

~ THE MYSTERY PICKERS ~

Yes, indeedy...the second half of the evening, will bring out the bold, and the bodacious.
Easy to become a Mystery Picker...just ask Cathy, Allen, or Jim (me)...and yer on yer way.
